We’re 100 years old
100 years. For 100 years we’ve constantly linked ports and cities in Spain and North Africa, transporting people, vehicles and freight. 100 years of crossings on board our ships, which have always been the newest and most advanced in the sector. 100 years of ensuring that our passengers and the most varied range of freight reach their destination. 100 years of commitment, excitement, work and dedication. 100 years in the life of Spain.
It’s not every day that a Spanish company reaches the age of 100. We’re fully aware of that. That’s why we’re doing the utmost to celebrate out first centenary, not with too much fuss but with the firm conviction that such an important landmark deserves acknowledgement. We’ll truly start to celebrate our First Centenary in November 2016 and after that we’ll be in all those ports and cities where Trasmediterranea is and will continue to be such a prominent company.
100 years in Trasmediterranea’s history are also 100 years in Spain’s contemporary history. We have been a large part of so many developments in naval shipping and maritime transport. On special occasions our ships have gone as far as the U.S.A, the Caribbean and South America. And the Phillipines and Arabia too. We operated in the Gulf of Guinea for sixty years. We have also offered tourist cruises in many Mediterranean ports, the Holy Land, France and England.
None of this would have been possible without all the people who have supported Trasmediterránea over these 100 years. 100 years’ worth of people says a lot. That’s why they all deserve our recognition. To those who were there for us and those who still are, to those who made so many crossings possible in the past and who are doing it now in our present day. On board and on land, in the ports, offices, shipyards, in our every day dealings with customers…We’re celebrating 100 years of all these people.
This website celebrating Trasmediterranea’s Centenary is dedicated to these people and just how much we value the link we share with them. Testimonials, interviews, real life stories about people and ships. And none of this would have happened without all the people who have contributed to the company over 100 years. Without those who dedicated the best part of their lives to help a shipping company thrive, one that came about through the merger with others at a crucial time in Spanish history and has remained constant during both good and bad times. And that’s how it’s been over 100 years. It’s our duty and honour to celebrate this Centenary journey by thanking absolutely EVERYONE who has made it possible.
